As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 3 years of age.
Information about Hexbug Nano V2 Gravity Loop
My grandson has many hex bug pieces and when he picked this up at the new store in Leawood, I could see his interest. We bought it and he spent the next entire day adding it to the collection and running the hex bugs like race cars. His sister even got involved and made all of us season passes to the "Hex Bug Stage Show".

-The starter set is easy to assemble...wish it had more options of layout. ( this will come with add on pieces)
- Fun to watch the randomness of bug movement and learning options of doors and directional pegs
Hexbugs are fun to watch...kind of like a pet you don't have to feed or clean up after...
Review for Hexbug Nano V2 Gravity Loop

Friends of ours have this toy and my boys (7 & 5) LOVE playing with it. This is a Christmas present for them so they haven't officially opened this yet----but they will be so excited when they open it up and discover they have their very own to play with.
A lot of fun, but only the V2 bugs will work with this!
We love the hex bugs and this is a really cool set. They really do climb and it is a lot of fun to see.
The only thing I didn't care for was that it wasn't clear to me that the traditional hex bugs don't work with this set. You need the V2 bugs. The V2 has a different design and three little prongs on their back to help them climb upside down and up the tube. Regular hex bugs get stuck at the bottom of the tube, just jumping around. They're sort of hard to extract, as they get far enough into the tube that you can't pick them out easily. We have to send the V2 bug through the tube on the other end to push the regular bug back out a little bit.
