Take it Outside - The Value of Outdoor Play!

Return of the 1970s classic toy "Romper Stompers." Steppers have long been a great toy for kids to improve balance and coordination.

This durable Stepper set is a modern take on this classic toy. The sharp edges, rust issues and stability problems of home-made “can steppers” are eliminated by molding our own design with a flared base and anti-slip top textures.

High quality braided polypropylene line is used for the handles to ensure durability and a good grip for little hands.

For ages 5 up to Adults
Each set comes with two stepper bases and braided line.

NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 5 years of age.

We've collected valuable feedback from our customers on how this item is being used by children with special needs in hopes of providing guidance for other special needs caregivers. Click here to view these "Special Perspectives"...

Identified Special Needs Challenges:
Autism, Sensory Integration Disorder, Speech & Language Delay
"This product would be great for younger children with spatial difficulties, autism, or physical issues, as it encourages independence and proper balance. If it were re-designed to have longer ropes it would be excellent for older and taller children as well."

Identified Special Needs Challenges:
ADD/ADHD, Aspergers, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, Sensory Integration Disorder, Speech & Language Delay, Vision Impairment
"I have purchased many Steppers previously to use with my special needs classes. It is a wonderful tool for increasing gross motor skills and balance. Physical assistance can be provided by standing behind the child and it can be reduced as the child gains more skill. I also teach the students to pull the cord back through the stepper and place it into the stepper. They do this for both steppers and then put the two together. The whole process is increasing many skills (e.g. following directions, fine and gross motor skills, motor planning). One of the coolest things is that when my students are using the steppers, all of their typically developing peers see them 'having fun' and want to be in 'their class'. It is such a great therapy tool as well as a great reinforcer for doing "seat work" which isn't always the preferred activity."

Identified Special Needs Challenges:
Autism
"We use this to help with his core strength and motor planning."

Identified Special Needs Challenges:
Developmental Delay, Learning Disabilities, Sensory Integration Disorder
"Williams Syndrome. My 7 year old with WS is very unstable on her feet, let alone on Steppers. This is a fun way for her to build her strength, balance, confidence and coordination. "

Identified Special Needs Challenges:
ADD/ADHD, Developmental Delay, Learning Disabilities, Vision Impairment
"I purchased this product to help my child with the development of gross motor skills and depth perception. She also is a hyperactive child with a short attention span. Using these helped to expend a lot more energy than just her typical circling around the house. They also engage her thought processes and help her to focus on several tasks at once while she is walking on them (i.e., focusing on feet while pulling the ropes to help walk around)."

These were a gift for my 5 yr old nephew for his birthday. It's too early to say how much he'll play with them but I know that another little boy at the party wouldn't get off of them because he loved them so much. He was a coordinated 4 yr. old. He just loved them! They were a hit for sure with that little guy for sure. Would've gone over even better if I would've just ordered two sets so the kids could've tried them at the same time.

Product review of Stepper

This product was a gift for our granddaughter's 5th birthday. She was very excited to receive "her pink steppers". Almost immediately she started walking on them and loved them. We felt that they are well made and should serve her well.

He hasn't mastered them yet!
Posted 22 days ago by Grandma J

We gave these to our 3-year old grandson. He hasn't mastered them but he keeps picking them up and trying. He can stand on the steppers and could take 2 steps in less than an hour of on/off practicing.

We bought this for our 10 year old daughter's birthday. She has had it for three days now and is on it almost constantly. As a matter of fact, she has had to learn to "take turns" with her 13 year old sister. Our daughter is active but can be clumsy at times, this toy is just great for both those points. I would recommend it highly.

My active grandkids were excited to try these steppers out. It takes some practice to get walking on them but then they were good to go.
