My daughter uses this doll to play with as well as her security when she sleeps or is just feeling tired or insecure. She always calls for "dollie". In terms of safety, there are no buttons or accessories to swallow and the doll's fabric and stuffing are "asthma friendly" and machine washable. So many of the soft dolls on the market are tagged as "surface wash only". It's comforting to know it can be safely machine washed, especially since the doll has be known to be hanging by it's hand from my daughter's mouth!
