I love items that are well designed in a minimalist fashion; and a designer that knows that function and construction are more important than pure form. This is a simple machine disguised as a toy that illustrates a few principles of mechanics well. Solidly built from steel/aluminum(?)/brass and rubber, this car has a substantial feel. Not too heavy, but not as light as a matchbox car either. Its simple gear and flywheel construction mean that there's basically nothing that can go wrong with it. The gear teeth align smoothly and the wheels have real rubber (or silicon) which means you get some grip. And you'll need it too, because the car requires a few good slow starting pushes to get that flywheel revving high. But once you do, the car zips along quickly. I love it.
My one warning is this, the gears are open to small fingers. So there is a chance of getting something pinched while getting used to where to put your hand while revving it up. I did buy this for my 3 year old, so we'll see. But overall, this is a great buy. Highly recommended.
Great car!

Setting: Home
This is a very nice quality car. It can roll either direction so its great for kids of all ages. It will also roll over things. Very sturdy design so I'm sure it will be around for a long time.
Great Purchase

I only had a chance to use the toy briefly, as it was a gift and I had to wrap it. However the car moved easily and I think will be perfect for the three year old I bought this for. I didn't get a chance to watch climb over small objects but have faith that it does.
Cool Car

This toy exceeded my expecttion...similar toys I've purchased elsewhere did not work as indicated. The Zecar was simple and worked. What more can one ask for?
