We have a "builder/creator" 10 yr old girl and was looking for something different from Legos that would give her a new "material" with which to construct from her imagination rather than to have to follow instructions to make a pre-conceived project. This set has given her the freedom to make whatever her imagination dictates. (Motorcycle, doll hospital gurney, bicycle, Ferris wheel, windmill)
KNEX always a good choice
