The engine is a very high quality & colorful but my 2 year old, active grandson was only minimally entertained with it. He pulled it around & carried it around but it did not provide enough complexity to maintain his attention for more than short periods. Nevertheless, the toy is of such a high quality that it will also be enjoyed by his younger sister when she begins to walk.
