Reach into this fun box to practice alphabet recognition and beginning letter sounds. Includes 100 die-cut Popcorn cards—uppercase and lowercase letters plus the Pop card, which forces players to put all of their Popcorn back into the carton.
My four year old son has little interest in learning his letters (we have not even mastered the alphabet song yet), and so I picked up this game, hoping it might be fun for he and I to play alone. I was pleasantly surprised that he gets excited to play! We have started playing it very simply: pulling a "piece of popcorn" from the box and saying the letter. I have played with m and m's (one for each right answer), but we could play it with real popcorn, or even without a "reward" at all. There are lower and upper case letters intermixed, and several of each letter, which reinforces learning with repetition. If he can't name the letter, I have him sing the abc's with me (the ONLY way he will sing it these days!), until we get to the right letter. You can also play by saying a word that starts with that letter, for the more advanced players. Hooray -- another Fat Brain toy that inspires learning!
We have to get the Popcorn sight words because this one was too easy for our son, He love learning via games. Straightforward learning sessions do not work for him.
