In the board shown in the image above, a player has played number cards, 5, 3, 2.
2+3=5

5-2=3
5-3=2

The next player tries to use one, two or all new cards from their hand to make a connection. With a 1 and a 4 played another fact family arises. (The 5 from the previous player is left in place.)
1+4=5
4+1=5
5-1=4
5-4=1
