Identified Special Needs Challenges: Hearing Impairment
"We try to use any toy to work on sign language with my hard-of-hearing 3-year-old. Legos are no exception. We work on colors, sizes and shapes. We learned the signs for fireman, fire, dog, etc... and it promotes imaginative play and signed conversation, all while holding her interest."
My 2 year old's older siblings helped build the fire station, but the added bonus to the Legos is that they can recreated into whatever they imagine. Having the firefighters as part of the set was also exciting...the kids always love getting to play with the Lego people.
I love getting legos for my kids. I think they are good quality toys that last for years and years, unlike so many other toys out there. I purchased this for my 5 year old, 3 year old, and 1 year old, and it's one of those toys that they all enjoy. The pieces are big enough that my one year old doesn't swallow them, but detailed enough that my five year old doesn't lose interest. There aren't a lot of pieces per box, but when you purchase several different lego sets, you can really start building cities! And I love sneaking in math without them knowing they are learning! Legos and Lego Duplos may seem expensive compared to other toys, but they are well worth the investment and they will last for years to come. Perfect for boys and girls, 1-7 (Duplo) and 6-106 (Regular legos) :)
