Everything I expected

Having played the full edition of Settlers for some time, I was a bit sceptical of the 2 player card game (rarely if ever play with only 2 in the full version). I was, however, pleasantly surprised. The game is similar to the full version, but it works incredibly well with only 2 players. It's easy to travel with, you only need 1 other person to play it, and it's a great time.

We had this card game about a week, we've averaged a game a day, and love it. There is, however, a steep learning curve, and we're definitely not at the top yet. We had experience with the board game, so the concept was familiar, but there are so many more cards to learn.
I did read an online review of the card game, and I do agree somewhat with the point there, that it could have been made a game for more than two people, and that the add-on cards could have been included; we have marked the add-ons for probably future purchase.

It's a fun version of the original board game and expansion packs suitable for two players. If you're thinking this card game can work as a travel game, think again. The game requires a LARGE amount of table space, so you won't be able to bring it on a car or plane. But if you are constantly frustrated that there are not enough people to play he original board game with, thus makes it possible with just two players. The overall strategy and focus of the game is completely different than he original board game. The card game is much more like the expansion set cities and knights.

i gave this game to my brother and his wife for christmas as they are lovers of all of the settlers of catan games. they really like that it is for 2 players and enjoy the twist on a familiar game--it has many similar ideas of settlers of catan, but is quite different from the board game, in a good way!
this game is highly recommended for lovers of settlers of catan!
