Players are recent immigrants to the newly populated island of Catan. Expand your colony through the building of settlements, roads, and villages by harvesting commodities from the land around you. Trade sheep, lumber, bricks and grain for a settlement, bricks and wood for a road, or try to complete other combinations for more advanced buildings, services and specials.
Trade with other players, or at local seaports to get resources you might lack. The first player to achieve 10 points from a combination of roads, settlements, and special cards wins. Beware that someone might cut off your road or buy a monopoly! You never know when the wily robber might steal away with your precious gains! Duration of play is approx. 60 minutes.

This is my favorite game. We basically keep it set up 24/7, and play it several times per week. It is highly addictive.

Game of unexpected fun!

At first when my friends and I were taught this game, we were quite as excited as our instructor would have liked us to be. We treated the gameplay with indifference and made the game into a joke. However, as we got deeper into the game, we thoroughly enjoyed it and found ourselves laughing in bewilderment of the fun we were having! This is truly a great game! The four of us even play it together online now!

Settlers of Catan is a great game, yet it is a very simplified economy in and of itself. The vast opportunities of strategies and interpretations to the same game makes the complexities infinite. The game is incredibly dynamic and addictive and fun for many to pick up on, as well as the inability to master the game (that's a good thing)

Great game and came in great quality. One thing I missed from the 3rd edition is the water being tiles as well as a boundary to hold the pieces in place. The fourth edition sometimes squeezes together and causes it to bump in places. I love how each resource tile is different for the 4th edition!
