I am a pediatric physical therapist, and this toy has been great! Kids love to play "birthday" and are working on eye-hand coordination, gross and fine motor skills at the same time.

It's very cute and well made. I like the velcro that is used to hold the candles in place and the slices of cake together although it did take my 2 1/2 year old a few tries before she understood that she had to give a good pull to take them apart. I would definitely recommend this toy. I imagine that she will use it for some time to come.

Fun toy. A good birthday gift. Another high quality wooden toy from Melissa & Doug. My 3 year old daughter enjoys playing with it, just not as often as some of her other Melissa & Doug toys.

My children have played with the pizza set made by this company for years and it still gets lots of play time, even with my 8 year old. We love the birthday party set too!! Looking forward to lots of "parties" to come!!

The product is sturdy, neat, and packaged sensibly. It seems like a great toy for ages 2-4 because it involves manipulating pieces that are just right for toddler fingers. The math basics of fractions and addition/subtraction as well as problem solving are involved. There is also no "right way" to play with this toy! It encourages individual, parallel, and shared play; there are enough pieces to go around. Nice toy!
