The pieces are high-quality and durable. My 2 year-old daughter and her friends can be a bit rough with toys, and yet this toy really holds up. The pieces are brightly colored and fun to have around. My daughter plays at making food and food shopping with these toys.
Great idea

Well, the gift was bought very early. Emily's birthday isn't until August (3 years old then). She hasn't eaten much watermelon yet, but she'll get to this summer and will enjoy cutting it. She is getting a knife with a play-doh set, as well. She will definitely improve her fine motor skills with the two. Her favorite piece of food to cut will be the bread, as we buy similar loaves of bread to cut or pull apart. I know it will be her best gift. She got a kitchen for Christmas, and we got it as addition to her kitchen.

This was a Christmas gift for our 2 1/2 year old grandson - he liked it much better than the child's chef apron I spent hours sewing! (Wouldn't even try it on, he was so occupied with cutting the wooden food!)
