"This toy is perfect for my nine year old daughter. It can meet the child at their level. For example she can choose a 3 or 4 letter word that she knows and it is still fun for her! She did choose her own name once and her brother's name once but it was still fun and we all had a good laugh. She is learning to guess the vowels first and also learning the letters most commonly used in words so it has been great so far! She and my son are both a little clumsy with their fingers (fine motor) but the pieces are big enough and easy enough to flip over that it works well and provides some exercise for their fingers at the same time. "

I bought this as a gift and she hasn't played with it yet. It looks like it will be fun, though.
