This is a really neat toy. The mirror's reflection is slightly distorted and there is a tiny bit of paper or something sticking out between the edge of the reflective surface and the wood frame surrounding it. I am not sure what the reflective surface is made out of but there are no exposed sharp edges. Each of the flaps has three positions; behind the mirror, in front of the mirror and perpendicular to the mirror. I like the perpendicular position as it makes something like feet. Covering the mirror will allow children to play hide and seek with themselves. Each flap moves independently for multiple position combinations. I bought this item to use with my youngest child who is not yet of the appropriate one year of age to use it independently. My three year old is so entranced with this toy that my husband is seriously considering getting the 3 year old his own.

I actually enjoy this product more than my 11-month-old. It doesn't work as easily as a similar Haba toy we own, which she prefers and has even learned the name of (twist). However, it satisfies my own click-clack needs quite nicely. Maybe she'll figure it out a little later on.
