As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 3 years of age.
Identified Special Needs Challenges: Autism
"In addition to having the child assemble the puzzles, I labeled each of the 4 sections of the box to match the symbols on each of the 4 puzzle pieces. It would be nice to have the picture of the assembled puzzles on the bottom of the box labeled with their appropriate symbols. Sorting: I had the child sort all the pieces by symbol type. Counting: count the number of pieces for each symbol type. Return to proper location: place the sorted pieces into the appropriate labeled boxes."
Identified Special Needs Challenges: Autism,
Sensory Integration Disorder,
Speech & Language Delay
"I use this toy with my son as such: I take out the pieces he is going to use and close the box. We work on the puzzle together in order to avoid scattering of the additional pieces which is what occurs most times with child with autism or SID. They get overwhelmed with so many pieces and begin to loose focus and scatter them all over the play area never accomplishing the goal of finishing the puzzle."

This product was purchased for my 2 1/2 year old grandson.
He was so happy to receive it. He loves puzzles and dinosaurs.
He was very anxious to start on it right away and continues to
put the four colorful puzzles together.
They are a little tricky for him, but he was ready for a step up on the challenge scale.
His four year old sister loves it too!
New Dinosaurs Puzzles in a Box Review
Posted 1/17/2013 by D. A., Los Angeles, CA
My child and I have really found this item very enjoyable. It serves as a compliment to the development he receives via electronic toys and computers. The illustrations use vibrant colors which help maintain attention. I particularly enjoyed the packaging of this item which allows the puzzles to be built on top on top of the box. The only area of improvement that came to mind would be to perhaps increase the size of the puzzle pieces to assist children in making the connections.
Great and simple puzzle

we like the way the puzzles can be stored in a box. it helps with organizing and keeping the puzzles fresh for the kiddo. he loves dinosaurs so it's better. i must say though that I didn't expect each puzzle to have so many pieces, but that could have been because i misread the description. either way, my son loves the puzzles. sice this box of puzzles has so many pieces, i would recommend any parent with a child like mine (has focus issues) to work the puzzle with them and not alone. this will eliminate what some kids do which is lose the pieces and go crazy like scattering them everywhere if they aren't supervised, but that goes for any toy.
