Solving mysteries like Nancy Drew was my intent. My 10 year old enjoys reading the cards, solving the mystery and then checking if she was right. Great gift for this age.

Based on the initial playing of the game, it's more of a reading product than a game. There isn't a board game or a way to keep score, it is a mechanism to provoke logical thinking, which is a good thing. It's not quite what we expected. Even though this review isn't the highest possible, it's a worthwhile investment in that it does create thinking. It's just not what we expected.

I bought this for my 12 year old who loves mysteries. She and her 10 year old sister enjoy this product.

Purchased this item for my 7 year old daughter to play with on an airplane flight/trip. I had to work with her on the first "mystery" to show her how to use the mirror to find the answer, and to read through the story to find clues. After that, she read a few more on her own, and thought they were fun. It was a great choice to pack, because it is small, they are short "bites" of reading and problem solving (rather than tackling a long book), and she can do it by herself or with me.
