Mosaica: inspiration for quilting

I bought Mosaica for its beauty, and to help me learn hands on how geometric quilts can be laid out. The brightly colored tiles, made of tough colored cardboard and magnets, turned out to be even more lovely than I had expected and both sides of its black box make good frames for the designs.
A colleague noticed my set and knew that his daughters would love it, so I bought one for him and then decided to purchase several more to give as gifts later.
Mosaica is a puzzle, a way to learn about color and shape, a work of art, a chance for meditation, and a planning tool all rolled into one.
