There are a lot of aspects to this toy. On every side of it there is something different (numbers, animals, tree) and my 19 month old loves putting the little animals in the doors and saying "nigh nigh". He loves building the blocks., too. The animals are a perfect size for his little hands.
I really like the design of the animals plus the different door designs of each box. The more you look at the boxes, the more things you find to explore on them.
I would have liked the boxes to have been made of plastic or some other material instead of heavy cardboard (gets chewed).

We purchased this toy for our 18 month old son. He loves to sort through things (dvds, flash cards, etc) and stack them, so this was a natural fit. The little animals prompt him to show off his "animal sounds" skills (quite a hoot!), and he enjoys stacking the boxes and knocking them down. Added bonus: the only noise this toy makes its the squeals, oinks, moos, and giggles that our son makes when playing with it!!!!!

I bought this for my one year old little girl and not only is it adorable it offers unlimited play/teach time. There are so many toys out there that capture children's attention for just the briefest moment (and they're usually over stimulating and loud); this one is lasting (and quiet!)! She loves to stack, but especially loves the animals. There are so many teachable moments with this toy - animal sounds, names, colors, stacking, nesting, colors, objects... we plan to spend hours together playing!
