I gave the pencils as a gift to go with a color by number book with very small areas in the designs. Thought it would be easier to get to the small areas than crayons. My five year old granddaughter was able to use them very easily. They held their point and didn't require a lot of pressure to make the color fill the areas. I wish the colors were a little deeper, but overall I'm very pleased with them. My granddaughter loves coloring and the pencils give her one more experience with different medium.

I wanted these pencils because we have an art case that we take to dinner and the car and it's for colored pencils but crayola or rose art lose their sharpness very quickly so these are great because you don't need a pencil sharpener. Ideal for on the go.
