This half-moon, green-conscious toy cradles a row of five brightly colored balls. Kids laugh in surprise when a ball is pounded on with the wooden mallet, and a new one zooms up to replace it. Great for developing eye-hand coordination.
Earth friendly PlanToys are created with chemical-free rubber wood and non-toxic colors. All PlanToys go through a special preservation process to maintain the natural integrity of the wood and prevent it from becoming moistened. This toy is extremely well thought out and constructed. It will be useful through several stages of learning. After playing with my grandson (he just turned 1 year old) extensively with this toy; it was clear that I should store it separately from the toy box so that I am with him as he plays with it for now. He loved the brightly colored balls which he put repeatedly into the base and poured out.
I will give this to Adam to take home when he gets past throwing the balls indiscriminately and reaches the stage where the hammer can be used as designed.

My 16 month old son loves this toy. His swing is not strong enough to use this toy in the traditional way but he does use the mallot to push the balls down far enough to get the next one to roll down. It teaches him "cause and effect" and puts a smile on his face everytime a new ball rolls down.
Lots of Fun!

Both our boys enjoy this, but it's been especially fun for our 13 month old. He loves to meticulously gather up the balls and put them one by one into the base, and then push them down with his hand to see them roll down from the other side. No pounding needed. The quality of the craftsmanship is excellent, and the size is larger than we expected.
