A strategic game to entertain the whole family - from tweens to adults.
You’re an aristocrat, controlling a small princedom in medieval France. Your endeavor is to build settlements and powerful castles while dramatically increasing your assets. You’ll practice trade along the river, exploit a few silver mines, lay claim to livestock, and use the knowledge of travelers.
The Castles of Burgundy is no lightweight in strategy. It’s a very cerebral game that requires mapping out various scenarios in your head. You’ll need to pay attention to what other players are doing and consider your future carefully.
General Game Play:
The basic idea is that you try to add various assets to your estate. Assets will give you victory points, which results in winning the game. Victory points are earned in many ways: When you add a farm to your estate, you get points for each animal. If you add knowledge tiles to your estate, they earn you various bonuses, etc. With every turn, you roll two dice, which you then use to carry out one of four actions: taking a new tile, placing a tile, adding estate workers, or selling goods.
