I think the bug jar is great to catch bugs that have wandered into the house, get a close look at them, and then put them back outside where they belong. It is also about the right size and price to put in a Christmas stocking, Easter basket, party goodie bag, . . .

I bought 2 of these, one for my niece and one for my daughter, and they love them. The product is excellent and little kids just love to look at bugs close up like this.

Good for small bugs but not enough room to observe larger ones. My 5 year old likes to see how they move up close.
