First introduced in 1971, the Fisher-Price Music Box Record Player has brought music to children's ears for generations. Place one of the five double sided records on the turntable, wind it up and place the "needle" on the record to hear the classic "music box" rendition of ten timeless melodies. The records store conveniently inside the record player and the carry handle allows children to take it on the go.
Just like the 1971 version in appearance - except for changes due to product safety requirements since that time. The Fisher Price Record Player now requires 3 AA batteries. Batteries are not included.
As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 2 years of age.
Music for My Munchkins

Received the product in a timely manner. Was thrilled from the moment I opened the package. Liked the compactness of the player and the simple steps to play the records. Was pleased with the "indestructability" factor of the records, since the unit was going to be used by my twin grandchildren. They are fascinated with the player and love turning it on and off for themselves. The bright colors make the player attractive and the in-player storage for the records is a bonus. What a great product, and a fun trip down memory lane for me!
Fisher Price Record Player

I bought the Fisher Price record player for my nephew for his 2nd birthday because he loves music. He started playing with it right away and really liked figuring out how to make the music play. My sister said he has been playing with it a lot.
Just like the one I had as a child

I purchased this for my 18 month old son and was thrilled to see that it is the same quality as the one I had as a child. He plays frequently with it, and seeing the "old toys" come back has thrilled his grandparents who also remember this from my childhood. It seems pretty durable, it has already sustained some "rough play" and shows no worse for wear. The music is the same as I remember, its not ipod quality but it isn't meant to be. We love it and are thrilled about this find. His older brother (5) has also been caught playing with it a couple of times. I think it will get several years of good use.
