A piece of nostalgia that is still just as useful!
First your child will enjoy it as a toy. Rotating the hands on the face, winding it up and watching storybook pictures rotate, and playing the sweet cheery tune again, again, and again.
Then, you'll find it's perfect for teaching your child how to tell time!
Introduced in 1968, the Music Box Teaching Clock has made learning to tell time fun for generations of children. It still plays the original melody, "Grandfather's Clock", a catchy, uplifting tune. Children wind it up time after time with renewed delight!
Just like the 1968 version - except for minor changes due to product safety requirements since that time.

As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 1 years of age.
The following "cloud" is a semantic representation of our customers' general impression of Retro Fisher Price Teaching Clock. The larger the text, the more frequently that term is used to describe it.
A Fond Childhood Memory Relived
Posted 21 days ago by JILL EDMUNDSON
Although I have 4 children, I must admit I selfishly bought this product for myself. As I walked through the aisle of Fatbrain Toys my eye was immediately drawn to the bright red clock I remember playing with in my childhood; but upon hearing the chime this toy plays, memories flooded my mind and I knew I had to have this piece of nostalgia for myself. I love it every bit as much today as I did back then.

Brings back memories! Love the item. I am concerned about the body. Seems like a frail box. I have changed to limiting the use of the toy and tend to watch the grandchildren when playing with it. They love it. It does make a slight knocing noice towards end of play, hoping that is normal.
