My nephew is into taking things apart to see how they work and then rebuilding them or creating something new. This was the perfect thing to explain how it all works together. Best of all - he's learning and doesn't even know it!

I ordered this lab for my 7 year old son and that is probably where I went wrong. It's too complicated for him. There are so many tiny parts and wires to connect before you can even start the experiments, we found ourselves getting frustrated. I had trouble getting the tiny wires connected to all the springs. We lost a part before we even got it all assembled. (We love the Snap Circuits Jr. we ordered at the same time, simple to assemble.)

    Rating:

Putting together the components was a little challenging physically (it is hard to bend the wires and secure them in the springs - especially the shorter ones), but the instructions were clear and my daughter and I had fun doing it together. Each type of component is explained, so that we learned while assembling it. Once the components were in place, it was quite easy to make the wire connections for the various configurations. Everything worked the first time around, so that there was no frustration. It kept my (6 year old) daughter's interest. I give this product the highest marks because it was easy, instructional, and fun.

Great product, fun and easy to assemble and use. My kids (6 & 9, girls!) loved it! Highly recomend this kit. I stopped short of the highest rating for this kit because sometimes the little springs were hard to open for installation in the workbench, a very minor issue, still tons of fun!
