I am a student in graduate school. These things have kept my colleagues and I nicely distracted all week. They require 5-10 minutes of cooling after each flight and 15 minutes of charging before. A flight is about 8 minutes long. On the upside, this downtime makes sure that we get at least some work done.
Controlling them takes a bit of work at first.

Fun while it lasted! These little things are amazing! After only a few "battles" one of the 'copters won't fly anymore. As much fun as they were, I would not purchase again or recommend.
