The Strider is a balance bike designed specifically for one to five year old children. Unlike the traditional training bicycle, the Strider balance bike has no pedals, chain, or sprockets and needs no training wheels. The Strider balance bike is actually an amazing educational vehicle. With no adult prodding or pushing, a curious child will straddle his or her Strider and immediately begin the learning process.
Coordination, motor skills, balance, and strength will improve as your child experiments with walking the bike. You will see self-confidence quickly grow in your new rider. In a few short weeks even the youngest rider will be able to steer and balance the Strider, running bike, lift it over obstacles, and move along varied terrain. Soon those first timid steps will become longer and longer strides as your son or daughter learns to propel the Strider at greater speeds. It won't be long before the Strider balance bike will mobilize your youngster like nothing else. Soon, you will be able to go for regular walks in the park, down a dirt road, or even a forest trail... places a training-wheeled bike, trike, or stroller could never go.
Super light. Less that 7 pounds (about 1/3 the weight of a typical 12" pedal bike with training wheels).
Puncture-proof all-terrain tires with sealed bearings and 5/16" steel axles.
Durable welded steel frame and handlebars
1 year warranty against manufacturing defects
Adjustable handlebar and seat height to fit riders from 30" to 44" tall (saddle height adjusts from 11" to 16" from ground)
Rider weight limit of 50 pounds.
Unique frame design has integrated footrests for gliding.

As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.

 |
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 2 years of age.

We bought this bike for our little girl who is turning 5. We bought a pink one for our 2 year old last Christmas. Both of the girls love them. It is amazing to watch them balance so quickly. SO much better than peddle bikes. My 8 year old son has asked for the new larger one for his birthday coming up! I am glad we went with the smaller one for our 5 year old daughter and she is tall for her age. I called a dealer who told me the larger one is considerably bulkier. I highly recommend this product for children 18 months through 5 years.

Very well made, easy to assemble. Teaches balance and gives confidence to the rider as they can easily stand and prevents a fall. Quickly learns how to balance on 2 wheels.

My 21 month old just got this and she is already very curious and excited about her "bike". She is riding (moving with her feet) around the house all day today and we can't wait to take it outside on some real paths when the weather warms up. I know she will grow into and love this toy.

We got this Strider Bike for our grandson on his second birthday. He loves his bike. His parents told me that he so looks forward to riding it, and doesn't like to put it up!!!

My 3-year-old really loves this bike. He's only had it for a few days, but he's really happy to have a real bike. He doesn't yet coast, but rather walks the bike along. He did feel like it needed a bell to ring, and there actually doesn't seem to be a good place to mount it with the handle bar design.
The bike was easy to assemble with no tools required, is extremely light and smooth rolling. We're all very pleased with it.
