No pedals, no chain, no sprockets and no training wheels either... kids hop on and excitements spins quickly.
Balance and coordination is achieved as children push off the ground to move the bike forward. Scoot, push, walk, run... little ones lift it up over rocks, maneuver around trees and scoot themselves around the block.
Seat and handle bars are adjustable, the Strider bike grows with your child. Powder-coated steel frame is durable and conditioned to withstand constant use. EVA Polymer tires (durable industrial foam) are well-accustomed to rough and tough riding.

As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 2 years of age.
Identified Special Needs Challenges: Developmental Delay,
Speech & Language Delay,
Traumatic Brain Injury
"My 4 year old grandson is epileptic as well as having many other disabilities resulting from a traumatic head injury. This bike has helped him build strength, confidence and balance where traditional therapies have failed. I see improvements in his gait, and fine and gross motor skills as he continues to use this product. Yes, he was a bit unsteady and lacked confidence at first, but with encouragement and assistance from the family, he has excellerated in leaps and bounds."
Review for Strider No-Pedal Balance Bike
Polymer tires seem like cheap plastic that will wear out much quicker than rubber tires. Handle bars way too hard for a 3-year-old to move. Our other son learned to ride on a Prince Lionheart bike and we were looking for something lighter. The Strider bike was much lighter and the paint color was cool, but functionally, wasn't worth the extra $ paid (compared to a Prince Lionheart). A statement from the manufacturer: Polymer tires eliminate tire pressure maintenance, leaky tire tubes, and broken valves – they hold up to miles and miles of wear. They also weigh less than traditional rubber tires. This is significant for beginnning riders learning to control a bike. The steering is designed to be a bit stiff when the bike is new. This builds confidence as handlebars don't feel twitchy or wobbly, and prevent a new rider from making too sharp of turns. As children use Strider and gain skill, the steering “loosens up” for more freedom in turning. Strider bikes have a two year warranty – ensuring full satisfaction for a long time to come.
We bought this bike for our little girl who is turning 5. We bought a pink one for our 2 year old last Christmas. Both of the girls love them. It is amazing to watch them balance so quickly. SO much better than peddle bikes. My 8 year old son has asked for the new larger one for his birthday coming up! I am glad we went with the smaller one for our 5 year old daughter and she is tall for her age. I called a dealer who told me the larger one is considerably bulkier. I highly recommend this product for children 18 months through 5 years.
Great Balance Bike!

My 21 month old just got this and she is already very curious and excited about her "bike". She is riding (moving with her feet) around the house all day today and we can't wait to take it outside on some real paths when the weather warms up. I know she will grow into and love this toy.
