The Strider is a balance bike designed specifically for one to five year old children. Unlike the traditional training bicycle, the Strider balance bike has no pedals, chain, or sprockets and needs no training wheels. The Strider balance bike is actually an amazing educational vehicle. With no adult prodding or pushing, a curious child will straddle his or her Strider and immediately begin the learning process.
Coordination, motor skills, balance, and strength will improve as your child experiments with walking the bike. You will see self-confidence quickly grow in your new rider. In a few short weeks even the youngest rider will be able to steer and balance the Strider, running bike, lift it over obstacles, and move along varied terrain. Soon those first timid steps will become longer and longer strides as your son or daughter learns to propel the Strider at greater speeds. It won't be long before the Strider balance bike will mobilize your youngster like nothing else. Soon, you will be able to go for regular walks in the park, down a dirt road, or even a forest trail... places a training-wheeled bike, trike, or stroller could never go.
Super light. Less that 7 pounds (about 1/3 the weight of a typical 12" pedal bike with training wheels).
Puncture-proof all-terrain tires with sealed bearings and 5/16" steel axles.

Adjustable handlebar and seat height to fit riders from 30" to 44" tall (saddle height adjusts from 11" to 16" from ground)

I Love the fact that I could find a "Laufrad" as they are called in Germany here in the US. My 3 yr old little girl loves it but she's just walking with it between her legs (we've only had it for two days). I'm sure she'll get the hang of it soon. I love the idea and fully believe that these bikes are better for little learners than one with training wheels. However, I read another review that suggested you can just buy a regular bike and not put the pedals on at first and then just add them later to avoid having to buy another bike (I'm getting a hand me down). And the reason I am not giving 5 stars is that this bike DOES NOT COME WITH BRAKES, or a kickstand. Or lights or a bell for that matter, but the brakes I assumed it'd have. that's apparently and optional product. I feel for the price it should have been included. But we really do like the bike a lot anyway. Great quality, easy assembly.

this bike is what we expected and really seems perfect with one exception, the sticker labels on the bike scratched VERY easily. Does not impact performance though!

Our son is 2.5 and loves his new Strider! He runs along side our older neighbors and feels like a "big kid". At first we wondered about the steering, it seemed so "stiff". Then we re-read the instructions and realized it was intended to be that way. Within 3 days our son was getting the hang of riding the bike and the bearings were starting to loosen up. He can pick up the bike with one hand and can turn it around and get on and off with ease. We are extemely happy with our purchase.

Wow! My son has been struggling with riding a bike with training wheels for a year and now he's riding without them. I never would have thought that my son could be balancing on a bike without training wheels in just 1 day. He loves this bike! The bike is really light weight but with a super sturdy frame. Adjusts to many different heights and assembly is really easy. I would definitely recommend this bike.

Great first bike for our little guy. He can play with the big boys now.
