If your child likes to play in the kitchen and "create" candy, this is a perfect gift. Parents need to be there to help! My 9 year old loves it.

My son loves it, but I was disappointed. The book was great, but for the price there was not much else. We had to go to the store for all of the ingredients to make the candy. If it were priced lower it would have been more appropriate. It is basically a few molds and some cheap tools. The nicest things were the candy thermometer and the book.

My son was very disappointed. This toy was expensive and at the top of his list. He was expecting something else, and wants to return it. We've made 2 candies with the Candy Factory. The peppermint patty recipe was a little off -- we had to add about 3/4 cup extra powdered sugar to the mint portion to make the candy dry enough to roll out and cut into shapes. Other than that, the peppermint patties and hard candy recipes and procedures worked perfectly!
