Although I don't generally promote beauty-related activities with my granddaughter (she is beautiful enough), when she circled this on her wish list I felt this was a good investment because she would be involved in the process of creating her own materials. I first gave her a bag-full of odd items to open: a cucumber, apple, jar of honey, some camomile tea, cottage cheese...and she couldn't figure out why she had gotten those things. Then her Auntie started giving her hints. She was so excited when she opened the Cosmetics Kit and learned she'd me mixing cottage cheese and other ingredients together, and she could give friends and family members facials! The explanations and experiments are perfect! What fun for budding cosmeticians!

I bought this for my 12 year old daughter. She loves it, is having "make-overs" with friends and has made some gifts too.
