The Annoy-A-Tron 2.0 features 6 sound choices plus volume control. For effective deployment, we humbly suggest the following sound and volume combinations, but you can conduct your own field research for more insight.
15kHz (Teen Buzz tone - young folks can hear it, older folks cannot!) (full volume)
Cricket chirping (medium/low volume)
IM Doorbell (low volume)
Grating Electronic noise (full volume)
Typical Electronic Beep (medium volume)
The Cricket Chirping Sound is interesting because someone will instinctively look near the ground when trying to locate a cricket. So, placing the Annoy-a-tron several feet or more above the ground will help to obscure its location. The 15kHz sound is also interesting because this frequency range of sound cannot be heard by everyone. In older adults or those with deteriorated hearing (a condition known as presbycusis) this high frequency sound will not be audible, while others will clearly hear the sound and find it quite annoying. They also might think they are going crazy because people nearby will report that they don't hear anything.
Assuming you have done your part in selecting a suitable hiding location for the Annoy-a-tron, it will do its part to drive your co-workers slowly mad with its short and seemingly random beeps. And when someone does locate the Annoy-a-tron, they're not going to know what it is - which is almost as much fun as watching them search for it.
The Annoy-a-tron 2.0 takes one CR2450 battery (included) and measures approximately: 2.5" x 1.5" x .35". It will run for over 4 weeks on a single battery.
Six sounds choices: beep, 12 kHz electronic noise sound, 15kHz, cricket, doorbell, alternating between all sounds

This is a great product except needs a delay knob to make the sounds more often or less often. Also need to name the sounds on the switch so you know which sound is which. It needs some kind of container for the product, the way it comes is like a computer part, but needs some kind of plastic covering with a delay knob. Everything else is fine. It's a fun toy and funny to use but needs to look better and protect the product. I had a lot of fun but this product needs just a little more tweaking. Of course it still works. It is still fun and I am glad I bought it. I would buy it again. In fact I bought two of these. They are so funny when I set them both to cricket.

The birthday boy (10 years) could not figure out how it works. Neither could his accountant father. The directions were insufficient.

I've concealed the device in the Emergency Room where I work - using the cricket sound at about half volume - it's subtle enough to be difficult to locate but annoying enough to bring out the killer instinct in my colleagues. It's hillarious. Some of my coworkers are in on the joke.
I usually slap it onto the back of one of the computers sitting under the counter. It's surprisingly difficult to find ferrous metal surfaces in a modern hospital. Everything is either plastic, aluminum or stainless steel (not enough iron in the alloy for the powerful magnets to stick). But most computer cases have a steel plate running down the entire back for the various cards and components to mount to. The high tech look of the Annoy-a-tron blends right in.
