Kids learn about taking apart and putting back together with Battat Take Apart Airplane.
First technical skills meet imagination! With tools and parts designed for young children, they get right to work. The nifty screwdriver with 3 bits is the just the power tool needed. Simply screw together pieces to complete the airplane.
Once it's finished, kids spend long hours flying their plane around the house over endless plains of playroom carpet. Then it's time to check the engine!
With screwdriver in hand, children take the entire plane apart, unscrewing piece after piece, until there's nothing left but a pile of twenty-one parts.
Once everything's passed inspection, children put everything back together again!
With large pieces and large tools that are easy for little hands to grasp, the Battat Take Apart Airplane gives little kids a real-deal build and learn experience.
Don't forget! Righty tighty, lefty loosy!

As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 3 years of age.
Great birthday present!

I bought this as a birthday present for my 3 year old son. He and his grandfather worked together to put it together the first time. He loves it so much! The only issue that we had was that within 24 hours he lost one of the screws. We ended up finding it (he had put it into his play tool box with all the other types of toy screws! lol). It worked out fine, but it did leave me wishing that there were an extra screw or two for when this happens (because it is bound to!). Otherwise, though it is a very good product and I think he will play with it often.
I gave this to my friend's 3-year-old son, who loves planes. As soon as the box was opened, both the boy and his friend (a 3-year-old girl) couldn't wait to pick up the tools and put it together. It took a few minutes for the adults to figure out the pieces the first time, but it's easy to learn (for adults and kids). Once put together, it makes a great toy plane to roll around or fly. Everyone was very impressed with how great this toy is.
Seemed like great toy, poor execution

When I saw this toy, I thought it would be PERFECT for my 4 year old who loves to play with pretend tools and is itching to "build" something. I had high hopes for this preschool building set but alas, there's a drawback to this great toy. Pros: This is a high quality toy with good, strong parts and good airplane design. It arrives already somewhat assembled (some of it already assembled so you have an idea what it should look like I guess) but you need to finish it up. Then it can come apart into 21 pieces, which is great fun. The parts are nice and big for small holds to hold. There are three drill bits that you can attach to the power drill for the different screws that the airplane is held together with. I put 2 AA batteries into the power drill and it started up right away. So here comes the BIG CON... It was disappointing to us that the drill only had one direction.
The Battat Airplane drill moves in both forward and reverse. If any toy proves defective - we're effective with quick replacements! Visit the Returns & Exchanges Center for details. We flew in to assist!
