We are using the blocks in an early learning program. The children love the texture, shape and smell of the blocks! They are having a great time with them!

These are so cool!

These tree blocks at awesome. All three of my kids love them. The one year old enjoys stacking, and it requires different balance and thinking than traditional blocks. My 4 year old makes dinosaur tree mountains (we added ~10 medium to large smooth rocks to the play basket for this item) and my 6 year old uses them with her fairies. Endless possibilities for this toy.

Bag was disappointment

The blocks are the size I expected although the color and finish are different than the photos. There is no finish on the blocks other than the smooth sanding. The variety of sizes and shapes is good for creating interesting designs. There is a very short string that ties around the bag rather than a tie that is sewn into the bag. This will surely be lost quickly and the kids will not be able to close the bag without help. Blocks without proper storage just create a problem. I will need to sew my own bag now, or the blocks just won't get used.

Tree Blocks

The tree blocks I received (two bags of them) look different than in the picture. My 3 year old seems to like them but they are almost white, not golden, and there were only two pieces in each bag that have a branch coming out of them. The branch is a tiny piece, not like the picture. All of the other pieces look like plain cylinders and the round tree disks. The disks have cracks but that was expected. I like the idea. Just be aware that the picture represents the best pieces they had, not necessarily the ones you will get. The good thing is all the blocks are exact measurements for building.

Great but Some Issues

The blocks are fantastic - the concept is great and the execution is mostly great, but as other reviewers have noted, there were some issues with cracking wood and splintering. I called Fatbrain toys, and to their credit, they are working hard to get replacement pieces for the damaged pieces from the manufacturer. My 11 month old grandson loves these blocks!
