Who says dinosaurs are extinct? Now you can raise "Triops Sauncauditus" (Aquasaurs) in your own bedroom.
Your kids will be excited. They'll be raising all sorts of ruckus when they open the cool aquarium with erupting underwater volcano model, and super cool Trilobites (Aquasaur cousins) as the backdrop.
You help them with the details. . . finding a stable surface with moderate temperature, sticking the adhesive thermometer to the tank, spreading the gravel floor, pouring in water and putting the eggs in!
Within one or two days, the tiny Aquasaur babies have hatched and are doing laps around the tank. With flat heads, three eyes, skeletons on the outside of their bodies, sharp lateral fins, and forked tails, they are the epicenter of a child's world.
Your kids flourish as dinosaur parents. They get the Aquasaurs to move toward them by shining flashlights, they swell with pride as their Aquasaurs grow visibly every day, and praise their accomplishments every time they shed another exoskeleton.
Aquasaur Facts:
Aquasaurs are relatives of Trilobites
Aquasaurs can be found on every continent except Antarctica
The Aquasaur egg has a thick shell that is resistant to heat, frost and dryness.
The baby Aquasaur is called a nauplis (Naw-plee-us)
An Aquasaur's skeleton is outside of its body, not inside like a mammal's.
An Aquasaur grows it sheds its skeleton many times.
Aquasaurs breathe through their feet.
Aquasaurs have 35 to 70 pairs of legs for swimming and bringing food to their mouths.
As Aquasaurs grow the larger ones can eat the smaller ones.

Review for Aquasaurs

We can't keep the water between 72 and 80 (which may be key to keeping the Aquasaurs alive). None of our eggs have hatched. We are trying round two though! We haven't given up.

My rating of Aquasaurs

Aquasaurs are pretty interesting for my boys, ages 3 and 7. This set hatched quickly. They are still doing fine, going on 19 days. The tank is very flexible. I wish it were a thicker plastic. Aquasaurs need spring water. The water temperature needs to be 72-80 degrees. Needs to be near a light for warmth. Overall a good product. Be prepared for some work.

Aquasars

The kids love watching the life cycle of the Aquasars (triops, they call them). We have watched one whole life cycle, and the kids are looking forward to hatching more (there are enough eggs in the package for at least two hatchings). My only complaint about this product is the strength of the container- while it's standing still it's fine, but if I need to move it I need about four hands to keep it from bending and spilling over.

This is a great product. My daughter loves it! She has stayed amused with this for days now. The eggs hatch and these tiny creatures swim all around. It is entertaining to watch and fun to think that these things grew from eggs inside an envelope. She is so fascinated with this Aquasaur habitat that every time I walk by the room - she is peeking in at them in amazement.

Can't Wait To Use It!

We are very happy that the Aquasaurs actually come with the item. We have ordered many of the "insect" items (ants, lady bugs, tadpoles) and hated waiting for the creatures to arrive in the mail. Our nine year old has enjoyed every one of these kits and this will be no different.

Some alternate spelling variations of this product:
aquasaur, aquasor, triops, tri-ops, tri ops,
