Monopoly: The Mega Edition is bigger and believe it or not, faster than regular Monopoly. It features a larger board, train depots, skyscrapers, 9 new properties including 7 new states, and the addition of the $1,000 bill. On your turn, roll 2 regular and one special "Speed" die that gives you a chance for a free trip to the next unowned property, or to the next property you owe rent on. You'll also earn free "Bus Tickets" that you can use to go wherever you want. The new speed die and bus cards make the action speedy, intense and sure-fire fun! You can play in one and a half hours with more fun that ever. Game contains big quad-fold board, 32 houses, 12 hotels, 8 skyscrapers, 4 depots, tokens, 37 Title Deeds, 16 Chance cards, 16 Community Chest cards, 16 Bus tickets, 2 dice, 1 speed die, pad of money (including $1,000 bills), banker's tray and full color, illustrated rules. For 2 to 4 players. Ages 10 and up.

The Mega edition of Monopoly

The Mega edition of Monopoly is much like the classic Monopoly game that has been around for years. This edition however, includes an extra property for each color group, the new Monopoly speed dice, Bus passes, A one thousand dollar bills, A new utility, the Gas Company, with Skyscrapers and train depots to build. My family and I only played the game once since I received it in the mail. Over all it is a good combination of the old and the new. The bus passes and speed dice really speed up the game. Also with the addition of an Auction space to land on. Available property is brought up pretty early in the game. The addition of the train depots is nice, they double the rent on the railroad you put it on. Once the property was all sold we didn't like the speed dice much because rolling a Mr. Monopoly would cause you to land on property in which you had to pay rent. Although it does what it is intended and speeds up the game. Bus passes are nice in that you can move to any side of the board in which you are currently on. The draw back is that if you are the type to put all fines and fees in a pot and the person that lands on free parking gets the pot, then the person with a bus pass will always take the free cash. The skyscrapers were interesting, although in our game we were only able to build one and it was on the cheapest property color. However the rent was high enough that it eased the pain of the cost to getting a skyscraper. As a bonus the Mega edition of Monopoly gives you the Money Bag token that is usually reserved for Monopoly collectors editions. Over all the new editions enhanced the Mega edition of Monopoly and is a real treat for Monopoly fans to play.

Monopoly is classic. Perfect family game for all ages. I have 16 and 19 year old boys. We play with their girlfriends and have a blast. The additional properties and things make the game a new experience. We liked the old monopoly. We love the new now.

A great game made better by adding new features to game play. Most recommended for those who have discovered the limits of the original version and are looking for more of a challenge.
