First introduced in 1986, the Chimalong is still one of Woodstock's most popular products. Only from Woodstock!
Recommended for its educational value by John Sebastian, Marilyn Horne, Andre Watts, Peter Shickele and the late Jim Henson. Tuned to C Major, the Chimalong can be played by number, color or notes. Comes with an extra #7 tube, which changes the B (for key of C) to B flat (for key of G), giving greater musical flexibility. Also comes with two mallets & color coded songbook. 16 x 13 x 2 inches. Ages 3 and up.

My daughter likes this toy instrument. The only improvement I think is the support which is made of foam. It could be lot better if made of firm material.

We bought the Chimalong for our 7 year old daughter. I don't think she has had much of a chance to play with it yet! Her four siblings (ages 17, 15, 13, and 11) and her parents found it so much fun. We've kind of monopolized it! This is a great toy to just have around. Within minutes, someone will pick up a mallet and start playing a tune. I just wish we had bought it years ago. A great toy for the whole family. And I promise, we will start sharing.

The tones are great and the book easy enough for our just 4 year old to play a tune. We found it odd to have a free-floating B flat and wonder how well the light-weight foam that holds the tubes will stand up to the stresses of that 4 year old and her 1 year old brother. The toy was a huge success!

My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter loves the chimalong. I also bought one for my 4 year old grandson, but he does not have it yet as it will be a Christmas present.
