so far our snow is too powdery for this type of sled to run well. Compact size is helpful since kids can carry it uphill themselves. Would be nice to have a cord/rope attached to drag it up the hills.

This item was purchased as a Christmas gift so we've not yet used it. I'll add further comments once we open it on Christmas morning and go sledding. It sounds like great fun, but I must admint that I'm a little skeptical about the design. It is of good quality, and I'll comment about the sledding once we've taken it out for a test run.
