Zipfy gets its DNA from a spontaneous winter pastime of yesteryear – shovel racing. In the mountains, miners would ride their shovels to get downhill quickly. Zipfy is made in the USA at a cutting edge facility where it is precision molded of high density polyethylene. Zipfy, pronounced [zip‘ fee], comes from the colloquial Austrian word ’zipfel bob’ which means stick handle sled. I bought this Christmas presents for my grandchildren. I got 5 in total. The first time to use them came shortly after that. My daughter (28) and her 3 1/2 yr old son and her friend and her two kids (ages 4 and 7) had a great time on them. She said they were really fast and lots of fun. She rode it as well as the kids. The friend's little boy wanted to keep the one he had been riding, other than that they had a great time with no injuries. The Zipfy seems very durable and well made. It's made in the USA and that's a big plus for me.

The ZIPFY was a huge hit with my granddaughter. Had to give it to her a week before Christmas as an early gift because of all the snow we got here in the East. It is very sturdy and she said she had lots of fun going down hills with it.
