When Steve Walterscheid dried his last counter for the day, he headed home to his basement to fiddle with wire. Not exactly a waste of time-when you consider that a posabe character-Fat Stevie was formed in that basement, licensed to Hog Wild Toys, and in short order became Joe Bender.
How do we love thee, Benders? Let us count the ways:
Benders are interactive art where the user is the sculpture.
Human Bender characters never have faces. One can make a Bender elated, sad, guilty, scared, happy, excited, dejected, furious, worried, upset, jealous, high or low simply by the way they are posed.
The tin packages Benders come in become their soapbox or podium. Although, with their magnetic hands and feet--they love hanging out on the fridge or your file cabinets.
