cool book

I bought this book for my grandsons birthday but after receiving it, I gave it to my husband instead. Backyard Ballistics has some great material, (we are building a spudgun as we speak.) But, it might get a teenage boy into trouble should he and his friends try to build rockets, catapults, spudguns, etc. without adult supervision. The book does advise 0ver and over again the importance of safety but I fear boys may just overlook that part. That being said, I fully expect my husband to be "the best pap ever" as he shares his findings with the grandchildren.

The book has been great so far. My son and I built and fired the potato cannon. The directions were clear and easy to follow. I anticipate spending many hours working with my son on future projects. It is a great way to get him away from the video games.

Backyard Ballistics is filled with fun and creative ideas. The materials are usually simple and easy to find. In Backyard Ballistics, science is involved in every project, and you learn something new almost every time!

Thought it was to much for an eleven year old. However his dad loved it.

he is fascinated about weapons so it was right in his field of interest plus he gets to build it and use ideas and learning skills.

Got this for my younger brother and he is really excited about it. We love to tinker with things and create little projects. We are in the process of making a spud gun. The reading level of this is rated a little low as there are some words in the material that I had to translate.
