Language Cards are teaching tools to help children build early language skills. Using these language cards increases vocabulary, promotes language development and strengthens communication skills. Each tin comes with 40 cards and an activity guide that has ideas, games and activities to make it fun.
The Nouns – Around the House set uses everyday items from around the house to help children to develop grouping and classifying skills. For example, dog, cat and goldfish can be grouped together because they’re all pets.
As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 3 years of age.

"My son has autism and speech delay. These cards are a bit bigger and brighter than other types of cards I have bought for my son so I think that is why they catch his attention. They also encourage my son to use his words. I really love these cards and so does he!"
Review for Language Cards - Nouns (Around the House)

I ordered this product not for a child but for my husband who had a stroke in January. He has Expressive Aphasia which means that he can't say what he wants. We use the pictures of common everyday things to help him retrain his brain. Repetition helps him. We take 10 of the pictures and repeat them until he can remember all of them and then we add 10 more.
These cards are great and I will order more when he has completed the 2 we ordered.

I really like these cards for my son autistic son because they are durable and not too thin so they will not tear easily. The pictures are big and bright so they catch his attention and also encourage him to use his words. I also love the plastic case they came in which has 2 clips on the side to snap it shut. Even his speech therapist loved the cards!
